2023 Sale of Chometz for Passover

traditional jewish matzo

If possible, all chometz – food not acceptable during Pesach (Passover), or materials containing such unacceptable food – should be destroyed or given away before the holiday begins. Should this be impossible, the chometz may be stored in such a way that we are sure not to use it during the holiday and its actual ownership is transferred to a non-Jew until the holiday ends.

If you are not able to come to the synagogue personally to appoint Richard Kline as your agent for the sale of chometz, you may accomplish that by completing the form below by 9:00am Monday April 5th to be effective. It is customary for the form to be accompanied by a donation, via check payable to Agudas Israel Congregation. Paypal and Zelle are also available for online donations.

I, the undersigned fully empower and permit Richard D. Kline, Ritual Leader of Agudas Israel Congregation, to act on my behalf and to dispose of all chometz that may be in my possession, wherever it may be, whether at my home or my place of business or elsewhere, in accordance with the requirements of Jewish law. Richard Kline has the full right to sell this chometz and to use it as he deems proper. This transaction will be in effect for the duration of Pesach, which this year begins with the sundown of April 5th, 2023 and runs through April 13th, 2023.
